Valentine Boxes

Making Valentine boxes was always one of my favorite things to do in school. I always wanted to make something really creative and fun.... Well, now that my kids are in school, they get to make boxes.... and now it's really fun because, I have all the scrapbook tools to make them extra cute! I asked Zach what he want to make? He said " A Pencil sharpener." Not really knowing how to make one I saw a box of Crayons on the counter and said "How about a Box of Crayons?"Zach liked the idea and next thing I knew I had all the scrapbook stuff out!!!!
We had a fun time making this project together! I would cut and he would glue and do all the writing... We copied the Crayon box to a tee! Our finished project turned out so cute!!!To be official we even made a color copy of the back of the box and cut and glued it on... (that was a lot faster)
The whole box took us less that two hours to make!
It was great to spend sometime together being creative...

It's been a while...

Sorry, for letting this blog go for so long. I was so busy during the holidays I kinda just let it slip by. I will try to better on blogging.... Wish me luck, (if you're still out there reading this!)

Every Year...

Santa pictures... Are always so much fun, especially when your little boy is petrified of him!!! While I was in Costco the other day Bryson said "Mom, see that big Ho HO... I don't like him!" So being a nice Mom, I decided to skip out on Santa pictures this year. He is almost four and I thought by now he would of out grown the fear of Santa... Although, I must say I kind of like having him be scared of something, then if he's being naughty I can say "Be good or we'll go see Santa Clause!"

What have I been up to....

I have had my scrapbook stuff out everyday this month.... Have I completed a page or two? Nope! But, I have created a lot of fun memories with my kids. My first project of the month were thistle spiders... Yes, these stickery weeds are good for something... We sprayed them black glued on some legs and eyes and we ended up with a fun spider! The scouts loved them!

Next, we made bean bags. They turned out so cute! One sheet of felt cut in half and folded. We ironed on the faces and sewed around them to make a darling pumpkin bean bag. I zipped around them with my sewing machine after so the beans wouldn't fall out...
Whats a bean bag without a beanbag toss game?
Then we made these fun witches and Frankensteins. I am in charge of the craft at the school Halloween party. These turned out so cute and my three year old had a blast making them with me.
And last but not least I made around 75 cupcakes for pack meeting. They turned out really cute and were super yummy!

And that's why I haven't blogged for a bit. I will be working on the Christmas book this week... Hopefully I wont have any more Halloween projects get in the way!

Bind-it-all

The leaves are just starting to turn all the pretty fall colors. So I decided to take the kids on a walk. They all had so much fun searching for the perfect leaves. When we came home I ironed the leaves between two wash clothes, then let the kids glue them in the little book I made with my Bind-it-all.
I just love the Bind-it-all. It has so many possibilities.
The kids colored the front of the book and loved how their projects turned out.
It was a great fall activity!!!

Baby Cages...

I am so thankful I have a baby cage (also know as a crib). That way when I am pushed to the limits, I have place to put my little Sawyer!!!
Yesterday, when I got out of the shower this is what I found... My cute little Halloween book (that actually has pictures in it) was ripped to shreds. Was I mad? You bet I was, then I took a deep breath, put my naughty little baby in his crib and took a picture!!!

I tried to put the book back together but then discovered it was hopeless... I guess I'll just use one of the other Halloween books I have. It's good thing I've designed quite few of these books!

What I learned from this.... "Never trust Barney to babysit while I'm in the shower!!!"
