Making Cards

I love making cards, but I love receiving them more!!! Nothing says you care more than a homemade card, and people actually keep them!
I made these cute little boy cards the other night. They all turned out so cute! It's so nice having a little stash of cards on hand, you never know when you might need one!

Tip: Try to make a few cards with the scraps after you're done scrapping a page, it's a great way to use up all those extra supplies!

Hand Print Pie

I was telling my sister about the delicious dessert I made on Sunday, and she thought I should share the recipe with everyone. I was actually making Pies to take to family. Needless, to say they only got one of the pies. I had just taken them out of the oven, I put a towel on them to cool. My eight year old came to see what I was doing, as she went to get up on the kitchen stool, you guessed it, her little hand went right into the pie. Well first I screamed, then I figured, "What's done is done!", so I went and grabbed the camera! Taking pictures really is good therapy, by the time you go get the camera all the anger melts away, and you usually realize that what ever your child has done can be mended, repaired, or sometimes just laughed at. We gave the good pie away and we ate the damaged one, with a lot of extra whip cream. I know that one day when all the kids are gone, I'll think back on the Sunday afternoon, that we made Hand Print Pie.

Happy Monday!

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor , a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?" She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world did I do today?" "Yes," was his incredulous reply . She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."

My Favorite Thing

I am having so much fun playing with the Bind-it-all... a little machine that lets you bind your projects together!!! It is awesome! The reason I love it so much, is your pages can be any size... You create your own book and then bind it together. The possibilities are endless. It's great for gifts, school projects, scouts, and much more!!!

Check out this darling book I just made!!!
I love the little calendar and punch out cards!

Our Mom is so clever

Our mom, Kathy is the owner of Mom and Me Scrapbooking. When we went to the trade show in California, her favorite thing was the AC card file. When we saw what she did with it we were amazed. It is so cute! We couldn't resist sharing her cute creation with all of our blogging friends. Please tell us what you think about it. We are going to be doing a give away, once we receive 50 comments. (from different users) So leave your feedback to get signed up for the drawing.
Happy Scrapping!

Be sure to get yours so you'll be ready when Easter comes!!!

To Save or not to Save

Quote For The Day

Spring is when you feel like whistling
even with a shoe full of slush. -Unknown
I ran across this quote and thought how appropriate it is for spring! It warms up 5 degrees and I already want to put on my flip flops. (I did, and did I ever end up with a shoe full of slush.) After so much snow I am so ready for spring. The NEW stuff from CHA is starting to arrive in the store. So I am getting excited to start scrapbooking up some spring!!!

Recipes and Scrapbooking

This darling page is from the 6 x 6 recipe book, a 20 page kit we had last summer. Everything came all ready to assemble all you have to do is glue and add your favorite recipes!!!

One of my favorite recipes lately is my cousin's Honey Wheat Bread (I think that's why I am up 5 lbs.) who can resist a slice (or a loaf in my case) of homemade bread?

Honey Wheat Bread

2 1/4 teaspoon yeast

2 cups warm water

2 cups white flour

3 cups wheat flour

1 teaspoon salt

5 table spoons olive oil

4 table spoons honey

In a small bowl mix yeast and water, In a big bowl mix flour and salt, add honey and oil to the yeast mixture and stir. Then mix the bowls two together. Mix up very will and knead till smooth (about 10 min. if you do it the old fashioned way like me) Grease bowl and let rise for 1 hour. Punch down bread and separate into bread pans, cover and let rise about 1 hour. Bake at 370 for 25-30 min. until golden brown.

Oh, If you love bread (like me) you better double the recipe!!!

Starting a blog

I'm starting a blog about Scrapbooking... and a little bit of everything else!
I am excited to get it up and running...

Quote for the Day:

Enjoy the small and simple things in life...
